The Center of the Compass

The book behind the framework and the intellectual home of Aretos Advisory.

The world is designed to scatter us. Information volume, decision speed, political complexity, and external noise all conspire against the one thing leadership actually requires: orientation. Knowing which way is north when everything around you is moving. The Aretos Library combines original thinking with perspectives from leaders advancing clarity, trust, resilience, and purpose in the modern enterprise.

The Center of the Compass: A Guide to the Power of Steady Leadership in an Age of Disruption.

The Center of the Compass is a story-driven leadership guide built around a practical framework: four compass directions — North (Clarity), South (Resilience), East (Trust), and West (Purpose) — that define what steady leadership looks like in practice. When those four forces align, leaders find their center. When one breaks down, the others follow.

The book draws on thirty years of leadership experience, building a national consulting firm, advising Fortune 500 executives, serving on boards through crises and transitions to show what steadiness looks like when the stakes are real and the answers aren’t clear. Each chapter includes tools leaders can use immediately: the Clarity Check, the Success Criteria Canvas, the Weight Test, the Trust Equation.  This is not a motivational memoir. It is a story-driven guide with practical instruments, drawn from experience and tested under pressure.  Published by Amplify Publishing · November 2026
